Late Model Suzuki Carry Body Lift Kit instructions
Thanks for purchasing your Mini Truck Body Lift Kit.
We looked at what was available in the market and found there was no Body Lift Kit of adequate design available for the newer Suzuki Mini Trucks. We went to the drawing board and started from scratch. Oh yea, we looked at what others were building. Poor quality, generally no forethought.
Look at materials of the MichTrucks Body Lift kits and you will see we thought of everything.
First: You will need some basic tools. Both Metric and Standard Wrenches and Sockets. Alignment tool (drift Punch), Steel cutting saw, scribe for marking steering shaft, Welder, etc.
Look at the pictures provided: They will explain some of what is Written and will make the installation go smoothly.
Time to install: It is estimated to take 8 man hours to completely install the Kit. We recommend that you have a helper during this process.
You will need to have a jack and jack stands for this job. You will remove the extension (steering column from the steering column and from the steering gear box. Note: Do not move the steering wheel or the wheels on the truck. You will later need to cut that steering column that you removed. Mark it and weld an extension into the cut steering shaft. This will lengthen the shaft by 3” (3 1/8” if adding a HD front bumper to the truck.
After looking over the pictures you are ready to begin.
Jack front of truck to remove some of the pressure from the suspension. Remove suspension bolts (12 bolts). Remove bolts holding steering shaft.
Lift truck and insert spacer blocks. Note the big wide blocks have a front and rear side. It works best if all bolts are loose fit first and then tightened after all bolts are in place.
Cut steering shaft after scribing line for accurate re assemble.
Insert tube equal lengths over steering shaft.
Re align in EXACT position. If alignment is off. The steering wheel will not be centered correctly and the turn signals will NOT self cancel.
Picture of double block
Note the picture below… it shows the truck after it has been lifted 3”. This is
This picture is showing the front passenger side body block.
Single block to the front and double block to the rear.
This is the front block on the Drivers side of the truck. View is facing rearward.
Note: The top bolts are all metric and the lower bolts are US Standard thread pitch.
This picture shows the 3” strut top in place. During the removal phase it is recommended that the strut be fully removed from the truck and the strut toy bolted in place to the top of the strut at that time.
Camber plates are supplied for optional placement at the bottom of the strut to allow for camber adjustment. The plates, while possibly included, are not needed for the 3” body lift kit as the geometry does not change for this type of lift.
Front view of lifted truck. Note the front air dam has been removed and discarded.
This picture shows the diagonal cut made to the fascia of the truck. This allows for larger tire or in this case, Track clearance. Optional HD bumper is also shown.
This picture shows the lower end of the steering column that will be removed and lengthened. Remove that Bolt …Remember the EXACT position it is in when removed.
This is a picture aimed up along the side of the steering gear box and motor. Note the cable here. (Support the steering assembly so as to NOT break this cable). When the job is done this cable is at it’s max extension…so be careful with this part of the job.
Splash guard is removed and later reinstalled.
Easy to remove and re install.
The green wire is attached to the steering assist motor on the steering gear box.
Just below the bend of the exhaust pipe you see the 2” stop block. This is added to prevent over extending the springs in case of extreme overloading of your mini truck. (ie. too much weight in the bed of the truck)
Offset shackle brackets.
Here is a picture depicting your lifted truck with Mattracks.
This it the steering column after be lengthened 3 1/8” and re installed.
There is no need to cut the boot.
